Captain Mark Timmons, MED 11, is a Certified Small Craft Master, with more than 20 years on the sea. Capt. Mark is Pleasant Bay's most experienced whale watching captain operating since 1994. Along with a Whale Researcher from Dalhousie University and a knowledgeable, friendly crew we'll take you on a 1½ to 2 hour cruise along Cape Breton Highlands National Park's wild and pristine coastline and Nova Scotia's great Northern wilderness.

Since 1994, Mark, Tina and there family of 3 children
have owned and operated Capt Mark's Whale & Seal Cruise and their success rate is one of the highest in the world During our average 1½ - 2 hour cruise, we search for Pilot Whales, Finback Whales, Humpback Whales, Minke Whales, Atlantic White - Sided Dolphins, Atlantic White - Beaked Dolphins, Porpoises, and Basking Sharks. Harbour and Grey Seals are often hauled out on our secluded rocky outcrops, and moose, bears, bald eagles, cormorants, guillemots, gannets and loons are frequenthy seen. The scenery on its own is breathtaking, with our spectacular rock and cliff formations, mysterious sea caves, waterfalls, abandoned cove settlements, a Tibetan Buddhist monastery, colourful fishermen, and much, much more!!!
